Besties Doin’ Portraits

This past weekend, we hosted our very first portrait pop-up at Yoseka Land with the incredibly talented Remi (@yamamotoinnyc) and Gabby (@figgsies), and we’re still smiling thinking about it!

It was a beautiful fall afternoon, the kind that makes you want to linger outside a little longer, and that’s exactly what happened. A line had already formed before we even opened the doors at 1pm, and for the next four hours, Remi and Gabby sketched non-stop. In total, over 40 portraits were drawn: babies, best friends, couples, cats, bunnies, and a few curious dogs made appearances (and did a great job posing, we might add).

This event was a preview of the upcoming exhibition Remi and Gabby are preparing for December, and it felt like the perfect way to start bringing some of that energy into the space. We’re so grateful to everyone who came by and spent part of their weekend with us, and to Remi and Gabby for creating such a joyful atmosphere filled with ink and conversation.
